The Cashmere Community Coffeehouse is tickled as can be to welcome the commodores of vintage American music, The Canote Brothers, on Saturday, April 18, 7:00pm. Greg and Jere Canote are identical twins who love the beautiful old fiddle tunes and the hypnotic “in the moment†experience of playing together, as they have done for their entire lives. They specialize in forgotten fiddle tunes, swing classics and quirky novelty songs. Both are fabulous musicians playing everything from fiddle, guitar, banjo, ukulele and various hybrids. With their genetically-matched voices they are proud to be a link in the chain of the brother duets of the past, like the Stanley Brothers, the Blue Sky Boys, Sam and Kirk Magee and the Everly Brothers. Many will remember The Canote Brothers as the "affable radio side-kicks" on NPR's Sandy Bradley's Potluck for a 13 year stint. This is sure to be an evening filled with fabulous music, laughter and good old-fashioned country fun! Located at the Cashmere Riverside Center, 201 Riverside Drive in Cashmere, a beautiful venue in which to enjoy Bluegrass music in a smoke & alcohol free environment, with row style concert seating and light refreshments provided. Cost: $3.00 at the door, “Pass the Hat†for musicians with a suggested donation of $8 to $11. Info: (509) 548-1230 or (509) 421-0494 or visit www.cashmereconcerts.com. |
